Homophobe is a SLUR

Kari Simpson and Ron Gray discuss the official complaint filed with British Columbia’s Minister of Education, George Abbott, concerning the acceptance and use of hateful slurs by and in the public school system. Epithets such as ‘homophobe’ and ‘heterosexist’ are being used in official school documents and by teachers and members of the school board, often to demean a person’s cultural, moral or religious opinion.

Also discussed is the phenomenon of the anti-bullying Pink Shirt Day initiative being taken over by special interest groups to insert exclusionary programs within the public school system. Kids are, in fact, being bullied into wearing pink shirts to school to support biased political activism. Perhaps kids should now wear white shirts to show that they won’t be bullied…

Erm, why not just wear shirts that say ‘we hate the gays’?

[Response to Michael from Culture Guard: Because we do not hate gays. You obviously don’t watch our shows enough to know that we love, respect and embrace all people. We have stated repeatedly that we have nothing against what adults do privately, as long as it doesn’t negatively affect others – especially children. That’s NOT anti-gay. We are also very up front about warning people – especially children – about the dangers of promiscuous sexual activity. That’s NOT anti-gay. And we are deeply offended that some people would rather sling slurs like “homophobe” or “racist” or “faggot” at anyone who may have different religious, moral, philosophical, political, or personal opinions than they do. That is NOT anti-gay. Why do you think you can call people names and expect them to not call you names? Why can’t you be civil?]

Disagreeing with another persons lifestyle is not hate or anything anywhere near hate. Talk about melodramatics.

Freedom of Conscience, Freedom of Religion. Freedom of Association, Freedom of Assembly and Freedom of Expression are all FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS that can not be usurped by a fake right – not to be offended.

What this group and groups like them are doing is saying if you don’t agree with me, my lifestyle or my opinions that amounts to hate and/or abuse – ludicrous!

Let’s bully to prevent bullying. Southpark just did an episode on this very topic involving Butters.

Freedom of conscience, expression and religion utterly quash any arguments these groups have, regardless of made up, yet contemptuously hateful slurs and labels.

What a bunch of hypocrites these groups are, but I guess it’s okay for them to be hypocrites. How would they like to be called homosexists or heterophobes.

Hug me or your a hater! Prove it – you must wear a shirt saying you love me or your a bully, talk about tyranny.
